Executive Director

Mohamed Yusuf
Executive Director
I joined OASIS (formally known as SORAG) as a volunteer fresh from university back in 1992. My role at the time included the setup of extracurricular activities for youths in and around the Royal Borough of Greenwich. In partnership with Woolwich Common Youth Club, we set up a local youth football team, homework and after-school classes, fitness classes and a Gym.
In 1996, OASIS commissioned research that identified a huge gap in the provision of social care services to the vulnerable members of the Somali community in Greenwich and with the support of Greenwich Council OASIS Care was born.
I started to lead a team of mainly volunteers through the inception of the Care Project and moved my way up through the ranks of care coordinator, care manager and director and have been in my current position, executive director since 2000.
