“For the first time in my professional career I had been given responsibility for managing and leading a Team. After about 9 months my Director said she wanted me to attend Management Training. I was confused and a bit upset as I felt I had more than proven my capability to lead and manage people. What's the point - was my first question.
But I followed my Directors' advice and attended the training course half day every week for a year. It was not easy finding time to complete all the project assignments. Some of what I learned I have never had to use at work since, but I was introduced for the first time to the skills of report and proposal writing.
When I gained my management qualification I was by then without doubt a better manager than when I had started the course. And more importantly I discovered I had a natural gift for Bid Writing and Tender Proposals to secure public-sector funded contracts. And the rest as they say is history………..”
