Our Care & Support Services were founded in 1991 with the specific aim of providing practical help and support to services users who due to language barriers, ill health, physical or other forms of disabilities and old age were experiencing difficulties in accessing mainstream service provisions. The objective of this free service is to help service users overcome social isolation by providing advocacy, advice & information on housing, employment, training and practical support services surgeries that help bridge the gap in the short fall of statutory service provision. From initially just a handful of volunteers living in Greenwich, they decided to call themselves SORAG and become registered as a UK Charity in 1996. Over the last 25 years as a charitable organisation its service provision has grown across London securing many contracts for care & support of vulnerable people. To reflect its desire to offer a more broader role in the community, SORAG changed its name to OASIS Care & Training Agency in 2011. This has been complimented by provision of vocational training for unemployed and low skilled people, plus offering advice, information and guidance service. Today in 2015 we have just over 200 staff, and over 500 service users that demand nearly 8000 hours of care to be provided each week.
